Amaie Energia e Servizi, in partnership with the Municipality of Sanremo, has launched a new initiative to promote home composting. Residents already registered in the Municipal Composting Register can request a new compost bin free of charge on a loan-for-use basis. The initiative encourages more sustainable management of organic household waste.
A home compost bin turns organic waste into a valuable resource for the soil. It can be used for food scraps, small grass cuttings and other plant material produced at home. As a result, less organic waste enters the collection system while more natural resources are recovered.
A simple action that benefits the environment
“We believe sustainability starts with simple everyday actions,” says Francesca Zoccarato, Engineer at Amaie Energia e Servizi. “This new compost bin distribution gives residents a practical tool to reduce organic waste, recover valuable resources and replace older equipment. Every compost bin delivered is a concrete step towards a community that cares more about the environment and its local area.”
How to request a compost bin
To receive a compost bin, residents must complete the dedicated application form, available here. Next, the completed form must be sent by email to portaaporta@amaie-energia.it.
Amaie Energia e Servizi will then forward the request to the Environmental Office of the Municipality of Sanremo to verify the applicant’s registration in the Municipal Composting Register. Once the verification is complete, eligible applicants will be contacted to arrange a collection appointment.
Collection by appointment only
Compost bins can be collected exclusively by appointment at the Amaie Energia e Servizi distribution office located at the Palafiori. Collections take place every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
