With the start of the tourist season, AMAIE Igiene Urbana has intensified its activities to address the significant increase in presence across the city, including visitors, holidaymakers and non-resident citizens. In response to this growing demand for services, the company has implemented an extraordinary reinforcement of both human and technical resources, with a strong focus on urban hygiene.
Additional operational staff and technical resources
Twenty new operational staff members have been deployed since the beginning of the month, supported by additional rental vehicles and dedicated equipment to manage all aspects of urban hygiene.
Reinforced waste collection and street cleaning activities
Waste collection, street sweeping, washing and weed control have been strengthened through targeted actions across the entire municipal area:
Enhanced waste collection services, particularly in coastal areas, beach facilities, commercial zones and the food & beverage sector, with more frequent and widespread rounds.
Extended street sweeping, including peripheral areas and less central neighbourhoods, ensuring a continuous presence along the waterfront and in secondary urban areas.
Intensified night-time washing: three dedicated teams operate on a rotating basis in the San Martino and Foce districts, in the hamlets of Coldirodi, Poggio and Bussana, and along high-density streets such as via Martiri della Libertà, via Pietro Agosti and via Galileo Galilei. Existing teams remain focused on city centre streets, both pedestrian and non-pedestrian, as well as the old town.
Extraordinary actions against illegal waste dumping, active across three daily shifts (morning, afternoon and night) to ensure a prompt and continuous response.
Reinforced weed control, with five operational teams, including one additional team dedicated to the summer period.
Focus on weekly operations in Sanremo
Focus: operations carried out during the week of 21–27 July in Sanremo
Daily washing of fixed eco-islands and those serving the beaches, as well as cleaning of the Imperatrice pedestrian underpass.
